De Amandelboom (The Almond Tree) Kampen
On March 20th 2012 nine windows by Annemiek Punt were placed in a new church hall of nursing home ‘De Amandelboom’ (‘The Almond Tree’) in Kampen. The windows are excecuted in Annemieks characteristic glass fusion technique and each window has a size of 0.43 x 2.03 meters. A special and unique project. To our knowledge there has never before been such an extensive project in this technique in the Netherlands.
“Arrival of the new heaven on earth”
Annemiek based her design and the extraordinary color palette for these windows on the blooming almond tree.
“The blooming of the almond tree is a beautiful image, but above all a positive image: something is in bloom. When the almond tree is in her last bloom, she becomes as white as snow. This is a sign of age, but also a sign of wisdom. For who can age, can bloom, can mean something.”
The windows were made on behalf of the ‘Stichting Bijstand Oudere Mens’ (‘foundation for assistance of older people’).
The church hall is open to visitors.
Address: Wederiklaan 2, Kampen.
